Museum passes may be picked up at the library only on the day they are to be used, and must be returned that evening (in the book drop) or by 9:00 the  following morning (Monday morning if borrowing a pass on Saturday or on Friday after 4pm since we are open limited Saturday hours and closed Sundays during the summer).  Passes may not be reserved; first come, first served only.

Connecticut’s grant-funded Summer at the Museum program has returned for 2022.  This program allows kids to visit museums for free all summer with one paid adult admission, without needing to check out a library pass or become a museum member.  To see a list of museums by county which are participating, click here.  Make sure you contact or visit the website of the museum you plan on visiting to make sure you’re following their specific procedures, as there are limited numbers of free spaces available and many will require you reserve your spots ahead of time.

The library now offers passes to the following adult out-of-state museums:  The Frick Collection, Guggenheim, Intrepid Sea Air and Space Museum, Museum of the City of New York, New York Historical Society Museum & Library.  Loan rules vary from children’s passes.  See the staff at the upstairs reference desk in the adult department or visit the information page here for more information.
